My proposal for
presentation was accepted at the 2005 ASCD (Association
for Supervision and Curriculum Development) Annual Conference
in Orlando, Florida, April 2-4,2005. The title was "10
Don'ts of Successful School Site Leadership".
I shared my ideas regarding those "traps" to which
principals often fall victim. Things in our daily routine which
really do nothing to advance our goals. The core of my
presentation was how to turn these defeating habits into
positive actions for a successful school for students, teachers,
parents.
Overview
| From ASCD's 60th Annual Conference ...
Voices of Education: Unleashing the Power, Passion, and
Promise
Allan Bonilla describes 10 common and significant faults
to which administrators often and easily fall victim, such
as low visibility, failure to praise and recognize, desk
or office fixation, criticizing and discouraging, and
focusing on negatives. All these weaknesses can be turned
around through self-awareness.
